Delhi Daredeviles Changed their name to Delhi Capitals for IPL 2019.

The well-known IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils has recently changed their franchise name to 'Delhi Capitals' for the upcoming season 12 of IPL 2019.The declaration was made at an occasion in the city on December 4th at the time of writing this article.

Further the franchise also stated Shreyas Iyer to be their captain despite of Gautam Gambhir. Ahead of IPL 2019 auctions which is going to be held on December 18th in Jaipur,Delhi Daredevils had made quite some changes releasing Gautam Gambhir & Mohammed Shami along with releasing overseas players like Jason Roy,Glenn Maxwell & Liam Plunkett.

Instead they retained players like Shreyas Iyer,Prithvi Shaw,Rishabh Pant.They also manage to trade in Shikhar Dhawan in exchange for Abhishek Sharma,Vijay Shankar & Shahbaz Nadeem to Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The Daredevils have barely tasted accomplishment through the initial 11 years of the competition. They are the main side - among those that have highlighted in all releases to have never made to the finals of IPL.

Whether they will win their maiden finals in this season now depends on whether this new change of name will bring them good fortunes in the IPL 2019 season.
