Indian cricket team has a rich history also with many myths and fake stories over the past years. Indian cricket team has a lot of stories and myths surrounding the cricket fraternity. Millions of fans are so obsessed with the cricket game that they simply believe all the fake stories and myths without even proof or any legitimacy.

Yuvraj Singh's 84 runs on his ODI debut

It is a just a myth that Yuvraj scored a 84 runs against Australia in his first ODI in 2000. But the real story is that truly it was his first innings yet second match. Although his debut match was against Kenya, where he was not required to bat.



Indian team lose matches when Sachin scores a hundred

There is a famous myth about master blaster Sachin Tendulkar that whenever he scores a hundred or century Indian team loses. However, in reality Sachin's 33 hundreds out of his 49 ODI tons came out in a winning game for his team. He also had a average of 56.63 whenever India wins.




India won overseas test series other than Zimbabwe in captaincy of Ganguly

Ganguly is one of the best captain that Indian team had but in Ganguly's captaincy Indian won more overseas matches other than against Zimbabwe is just a myth. Reality is Indian won only against Zimbabwe under his captaincy in 2005. He drew 1-1 in England (2002) and Australia in (2003-2004) but never won the series overseas.



Australia stopped enforcing follow-on after Eden loss to India

It was just the third time that the team lost the match after making the opposition to bat twice in 2001. But due to this myths started revolving around that Australian's are afraid to enforce the follow-on after losing the match in 2001.
Steve Waugh enforced follow-on 7 times winning all matches and Ricky Ponting did it for 4 times. Whenever they did not enforced the follow-on it was only because of cricketing reasons and decisions and not because of losing the match in Eden Garden.



Sehwag's "Baap Beta" incident with Shoaib

Sehwag reviewed how, once, he was near to double hundred, Shoaib was urging him to smack him for six. He reacted by indicating Sachin at the opposite end - "Woh tera baap khara hai non-striker end pay, ussko bol wo maar kay dikhaye gaa." The story goes that Sachin hit Shoaib out of the ground and Sehwag said - beta beta hota hai, baap baap hota hai. Be that as it may, after some examination, measurements uncover this myth. Anil Kumble was successful only on home ground

Anil Kumble is appraised unplayable at home however no major deal abroad which is just a myth. Be that as in the 2003-04 period he took 36 wickets in 6 Tests in Australia and Pakistan joined. There is a myth that Indian batsman can only dominate and play against spin bowlers and not against fast bowlers. But as it is said its just a fake story. Indeed somewhere in 2002 and 2010, Indian batsman has a good record against fast pacers. Moreover some of the Indian batsman like Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Sehwag, Laxman were extraordinary with fast bowlers.
