- Prithvi Shaw injured his left ankle by landing & rolling over it while fielding in India's warm-up match against Australia.
The Indian cricket team recently had a major loss in their batting team as one of their recent best opening batsman Prithvi Shaw was ruled out of the Test series to be played against Australia on 6th December before the 1st Test against Australia due to an ankle injury.
Shaw injured his left ankle in the warm up match against Aussies while he was fielding in ground landing on his left ankle twisted and fell in to the ground. Due to this process, Shaw was in so much pain that he couldn't even take any force on his left ankle or leg nor being able to bare the pain & he was forced to carry out of the ground in order to prevent any pressure on his ankle. India physio Patrick Farhat quickly rushed to him and Shaw was taken to hospital for scans.
This incident happened when in the 15th over when Australian batsman Max Bryant hit a six to Ravichandran Ashwin over midwicket. Prithvi Shaw managed to catch the ball but luck was not with him and results in injuring his leg.This incident for Prithvi Shaw is more painful because the 19-year old made an awesome eye catching debut against West Indies to get a spot in a Test series against Australia.
"Shaw underwent scans & the reports revealed an lateral ligament injury" concluding Shaw will be unavailable for 1st Test against Australia, BCCI release said.
We can just hope Shaw will have a quick rehabilitation in his injury and will see him batting again in the field.
