D.Elgar's excellent 128* leads South Africa to 229/4 at stumps
On Day 1 of 1st test match of 3 Test series between New Zealand and South Africa.
This would 't have happened has South Africa were 22 for 3 on the opening of the day.But South Africa's opening batsman Dean Elgar scored a (128*) runs with a huge total of 22 fours with a run rate of 48.85.Which helped South Africa to overcome with pressure and put his team in a good position and took a lead of 229/4 runs in 90 overs.
With his support on the other side of pitch Faf du Plessis scored a half century adding more 52 runs to the team,but New Zealand managed to dismiss Faf du Plessis breaking up the partnership.One of the important wicket of Faf du Plessis which was taken by New Zealand bowler J.Neesham.
On stumps as both the batsman Elgar 128* and Bavuma 38* still stand in their position for Day 2.
